How we set a line for a new kind of task
How we choose the criteria, the line and the sign-off for work we have not assessed before.
Apter grows out of applied research on climate risk, emergencies and AI, and we carry what it finds into our courses and into how we test AI agents.
Three lines of work.
How coastal and emergency managers decide when the hazard, the data and the future are all uncertain, including deep reinforcement learning for emergency response.
How hazards combine, such as a storm surge on top of a river flood, and how to assess risks that arrive together.
How to judge whether an agent’s output is good enough for a given kind of work. It is the method behind the line we set for each task.
