Disaster Resilience
Field-Based Programme.

Three days built around real disaster decisions, including a field lab. Location and field design are being confirmed.

About the event

Disaster Resilience is planned for 28–30 April 2027 across the Ballina / Northern Rivers region or South East Queensland. The final location and field design are being confirmed.

This programme is for people who carry disaster decisions — in local and state government, emergency services, utilities, infrastructure and the organisations that advise them.

It is planned as three days including a field lab, so the work is done against real conditions rather than in a workshop room. The final location, field route and contributing hosts are still being confirmed, and we would rather say so than publish a programme we cannot yet stand behind.

Register your interest and we will contact you as soon as the programme and dates are confirmed.

An eye-opening and transformative experience. The Coastal Resilience Short Course reshaped how I approach coastal planning — moving beyond technical fixes to embrace systems thinking, meaningful community engagement, and long-term adaptation. I left the course with practical tools, renewed clarity, and a stronger sense of purpose in my role.
